Marco goes to the Panhandle - Take time to meet him!

Events: Marco visits the Florida Panhandle

Marco Rubio will travel to the Florida Panhandle tomorrow to hold a series of town hall meetings with local residents, business owners and officials.  You MUST take the time to meet this great young man who truly wants to represent Florida's needs in the US Senate, not just gain a step on the political ladder.  He is a person of conviction who does not sway with each opinion poll.

He wants to discuss the response to the Gulf Oil Spill and what we need to do now to promote an economic recovery over the months and years ahead.  As Florida’s next United States Senator, Rubio will take a leading role in ensuring that we are not only restoring our beaches but also creating a climate for economic recovery along Florida’s Gulf Coast.
If you’re in the area, you’re welcome to attend and participate in the discussion. RSVP on events section on Facebook.

Statesmen Needed in 2010 - Politicians need not apply!

All causes, thoughts, speech and courses of action have resulting effects. This is a basic natural law. It is this that has had me thinking about where we are now regarding ethics in our Federal, State and local governments. I will never claim to be a philosopher, historian or intellectual, but I have reached some conclusions over the last several months over the decline of ethics in our government.

First CAUSE: We have a choice as to what type of candidate we elect. We may elect a "politician" - 1: a person experienced in the art or science of government ; especially : one actively engaged in conducting the business of a government 2 a: a person engaged in party politics as a profession b: a person primarily interested in political office for selfish or other narrow usually short-sighted reasons.

Alternatively, we may choose to elect a "statesman" - 1: one versed in the principles or art of government ; especially : one actively engaged in conducting the business of a government or in shaping its policies 2: one who exercises political leadership wisely and without narrow partisanship. (definitions - Merriam-Webster.com)

First RESULTING EFFECT: If we elect politicians, we have already lowered the governmental ethical bar. Lowering that bar will result in legislation that meets their personal aims rather than the good of the citizens. If we elect statesmen, we have not lowered the bar, we have added the wisdom that comes with the experience of successful governance or leadership, and resulting legislation will be for the common good, not for the satisfaction of personal or partisan goals. In a majority of cases in the media age we have elected politicians rather than statesman, resulting in the petty partisanship and egocentricity that now impedes the legislative process and continually lowers ethical boundaries.

Second CAUSE: Since the 1960's we have been living in a society that has preached moral relativism. Catch phrases/philosophy - "situation ethics" a "Christian" theory from Episcopal priest Joseph Fletcher - It basically states that sometimes other moral principles can be cast aside in certain situations if love is best served; this progressed to "its OK if its not hurting anyone", "if it feels good do it", "no one has the right to say they're position is right above all others", "a loving God would never punish people or limit access to heaven", "Holy Scripture is a wonderful collection of various forms of literature", "its OK to cheat (lie, steal, murder) as long as you don't get caught", "there are NO (moral) absolutes", and finally "the Constitution is a flawed document written 200+ years ago and subject to interpretation".

Second RESULTING EFFECT: We have in our Federal and local governments a majority of politicians who, among other things, believe that their job is to interpret the Constitution rather than apply its constraints when legislating. In "politico-speak" - use the constitution when its suits them as a means to support their end goals, and discard it when it does not. Why do they feel the freedom to do this? First, there are no moral absolutes, so their are no limits to what they feel the freedom to do. Second, the governing ideas in the Constitution were based on, among other documents and writings, the moral tenets and principles found in Holy Scripture. Holy Scripture, the Old and New Testament, was for most of our founders their daily guidebook for a civil and moral life. Their success in those lives caused them to believe that the same principals would aide us in having a civil society.

If politicians no longer believe in the infallibility of scripture or that it was a Divine revelation given by our Creator so we would know how to exercise our inalienable rights, then by default they also are free to question the validity of the Constitution that was based on those scriptural principals. In short, if they believe the 2000 year old document is fallible, then by default the 200 year old document based on it is also fallible. Ergo, they may apply it situationally. In the broader picture, they can live their lives and make moral choices with impunity because their belief in fallible scripture results in no moral absolutes to govern their personal conduct.

We should not be surprised at where we now stand. We have allowed politicians rather than statesman increasing control over our nation and our lives. We have compromised our own ethics and standards when convenient. We have placed our own faith in a box that says use when necessary.

When we become desperate enough to persistently petition our Creator to show us what is necessary to restore this once great nation, then. in his Divine Providence, he will show us. Until then, we are tilting at windmills. His answer may sound something like this:

"If MY people, which are called by MY name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land." I Chronicles 7:14

We need Statesmen! It is up to US!

The best 7 minutes you will ever spend...

Well maybe there are one or two things that might top this. But this video (below) of an extemporaneous speech by Marco Rubio is what convinced me to support him in his run to be the next US Senator from Florida. I have looked in his eyes and seen his integrity and his love for this country.

I know times are tough for many people, but I hope you will consider giving whatever you can today - to help Marco meet his 2nd quarter fundraising goals. It is up to us if we really want to change the tone in DC and bring back integrity and accountability. Marco's is a voice that will speak for us but more importantly for the next generation.

Support Marco today! http://www.marcorubio.com

Go Jan Go!

Jan Brewer  is what a strong, pioneering stock, woman looks and sounds like. First primary duty of the Federal  Government - Secure our Borders!!  Our President is too busy with controlling banks, proclaiming June National GLBT Month, not responding to the Oil Spill and planning his comprehensive immigration reform to be bothered.

Thanks to Carolyn at Carolyn's Closet for the link.

CEOs don't think 25 million unemployed...

..are a big enough labor pool!  They insist we need a path to citizenship for the millions of illegal immigrants who are here to add to that pool.  Read the insanity for yourself:

NYC mayor, major CEOs lobby for immigration reform
By SARA KUGLER FRAZIER (AP) – 2 days ago
NEW YORK — Chief executives of several major corporations, including Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, Disney and News Corp., are joining Mayor Michael Bloomberg to form a coalition advocating for immigration reform — including a path to legal status for all undocumented immigrants now in the United States.
The group includes several other big-city mayors and calls itself the Partnership for a New American Economy. It seeks to reframe immigration reform as the solution to repairing and stimulating the economy.
Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corp., appeared together Thursday on Fox News to discuss the effort.
"We're just going to keep the pressure on the congressmen," Murdoch said. "I think we can show to the public the benefits of having migrants and the jobs that go with them."
Bloomberg added, "Somebody has to lead and explain to the country why this is in our interest."
The CEOs said Thursday in statements that their companies — and the nation — depend on immigrants.
"It's our great strength as a nation, and it's also critical for continued economic growth," Walt Disney Co. Chairman and CEO Robert Iger said in a statement. "To remain competitive in the 21st century, we need effective immigration reform that invites people to contribute to our shared success by building their own American dream."
The group says it intends to make its point to policymakers by "publishing studies, conducting polls, convening forums and paying for public education campaigns."
The tactics are similar to those used by Bloomberg's coalition of mayors who support gun control.
Bloomberg has for years criticized the federal government for its immigration laws, proposing in 2006 a plan that would have established a DNA or fingerprint database to track and verify all legal U.S. workers.
The billionaire mayor, a former CEO of the financial information company Bloomberg LP, also said at the time that all 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States should be given the opportunity for citizenship, saying that deporting them is impossible and would devastate the economy.
Lawmakers who wanted to deport all illegal immigrants were "living in a fantasy world," he said.
He has recently taken up the fight again, declaring this week that U.S. immigration policy "is national suicide."
"I can't think of any ways to destroy this country quite as direct and impactful as our immigration policy," he said Wednesday. "We educate the best and the brightest, and then we don't give them a green card."
The group's main immigration goals are to secure the borders, develop an easy system for employers to verify work eligibility, hold companies accountable for breaking the laws and improve the use of technology to prevent illegal immigration.
The group also wants more opportunities for immigrants to join the U.S. work force and a path to legal status for all undocumented immigrants.
Bloomberg spokesman Jason Post said no money has been spent on the effort yet, and he could not say whether the group will be a standard nonprofit, a political action committee or a group known as a 501(c)4 nonprofit, which can operate outside the more strict limits governing political action committees.
The business leaders in the coalition employ more than 650,000 people and make more than $220 billion in annual sales, combined.
The effort marks Bloomberg's return to national issues after he spent 2009 campaigning for a third term, focusing mostly on New York City's municipal concerns.
The Republican-turned-independent spent about two years testing the waters for an independent 2008 presidential run, but ultimately he gave up the idea.
By recruiting business leaders and mayors into a national-issue coalition, he is highlighting both of his backgrounds in running a city and running a business, which could be seen as an early move to dust off his presidential aspirations.

Obama at the Bat - VIDEO! Must see!

Thanks to Ken Mayo for posting this.

Constitution? Balance of Powers?? Nah!!

So...Dems hear the death knell and just keep bringing it on at exponentially  increasing speed.  Refusing to listen to the citizens of this country they:

  • threaten amnesty for 11 million illegals by Executive Order if comprehensive reform not passed

  • attempt to curtail free speech with the DISCLOSE act while we are distracted by McChrystal and the Gulf Oil Spill.

  • believe any judges order should just be ignored and appealed

  • lie about Health Care Reform and cover up all negative reports

  • refuse to allow investigations into "Offer Gate" (Sestak, et al)

  • stop the dredging in the Gulf so that our shores are further unprotected

  • present an activist judge as a wolf in sheep's clothing

And that's just this week!  And I'm sure I have missed a few.  No wonder the American people are frazzled and exhausted (not to mention the economy, housing bust and unemployment).  We no longer have a representative government.  Alinsky Rules!   Reagan was fighting these folks when HE was president (just read The Reagan Diaries - some of the same players were involved then!)

I don't like the fact that I am constantly on the web, social networks, and watching TV rather than enjoying more leisure and creative pursuits and reading during my summer break, but I just feel like I have to or some bigger shock yet will rock my world when I least expect it.  I don't want to be one of the ignorant ones who is surprised when they show up at my door to take all communication devices because I am a subversive, reactionary, activist.  Oh wait - I'm just an American, who so far still has freedom of speech, and will not accept the direction my country's current leaders want to take us.

PS - I used this picture as the antithesis of all that is happening - noble structure housing ignoble deeds.

Kagan and the OTHER Barak

Please Don't!!

Just my opinion but...Can we please ask that the following folks NOT run for president?  All would make great cabinet members - esp. Newt and Fred - just don't want them as Leader of the Free World - if we can still claim that status by 2012

**********************

Mike Huckabee - too moderate (I believe he is really going to)
Newt Gingrich - too academic. A historian who is better at organizing and disseminating info than leading.
Fred Thompson - LOVE him but not enough effort the last time
John McCain - Just don't, John
Bobby Jindal - nice guy and great for Louisiana but not for the rest of the country.

***********************

With that out of the way - who would you LIKE to see in 2012?
(and yes I know 2010 is the biggest concern right now and am working actively on that)

I am liking Paul Ryan, Mitch Daniels, Sarah Palin, Jan Brewer - all for different reasons - but most of all for their backbones!

Obama's Chicago Network - OCN TV

RNC going cool!  check this site!

Obama's Chicago Network.

Here is the first video that's out there, but there is more to the site.  You'll love it!

Spilling thoughts....

If I responded to crises in my classroom the way the President is responding to the spill it would look like this:

Situation - Huge student fight breaking out
Response -
  • Get the non-fighting students together for a meeting while the fight spills into the hallway
  • Have an email dialogue with administration advising them of the situation
  • Put a proclamation on my web site
  • Appoint a student-faculty panel to study the situation
  • Observe the growing fight with dismay and say - "Even though I am the teacher I only have so much power.  I can't teach them how to handle their anger.  I can't even think about getting  in the middle.  But I WILL hold them accountable for all damages, and set up a commission of proven ineffective flunkies to take care of it."
Outcome - by now the fight has spread out into the community and is affecting everyone around.  It is no longer safe to go out or to eat at the local restaurants.  But I'll think about that tomorrow.  I believe I have a concert to go to tonight, and a golf game tomorrow.

It's really simple..

Why I am one of those pesky "conservative activists"  -

I want to stop the incredible surge of government expansion and intrusion into our lives.

I want the leaders of this country to stop mocking and threatening citizens who disagree with their policies.

I want congress to stop and read legislation before they vote on it and consider the ramifications for the country at large, not just their pocketbooks, special interest groups or reelection war chests.

I want to see honor and integrity in DC

I need to protect my nieces and nephews from the massive unpayable debt and financial collapse that the escalating deficit spending, printing of money and being "owned" by  China will leave them.

I would like this government to get on track taking pressure off of small business so that they can generate the jobs we so desperately need and stop adding massive unfunded programs, regulations and taxes that have them frozen in their tracks regarding expansion or hiring for fear of their bottom lines.

I want it to be "morning in America" again.

America - We CAN emerge victorious!

This has been a hard couple of years for millions of Americans.  Some people are feeling hopeless.  Some are saying it will all be OK if the government will take charge of the Wall Street Fat Cats.  Some feel it will be alright when there is a conservative revolution in November and all those big spending radicals are swept out of DC.

I believe the answer lies much deeper.  America will emerge from this stagnant quagmire when Americans develop honorable character and a pioneering work ethic and the government decides to get out of business's hair, and give them some freedom to innovate and create without volumes of growth hindering regulations.

America will emerge victorious when people stop expecting a handout and develop some grit.

  • Accepting a hand up in a time of need is nothing to be ashamed of.
  • Expecting others to support you and provide your housing, childcare and education, while you provide no effort to help yourself IS shameful - no matter your race or age.
  • Asking the gov't to continue unemployment benefits because you won't take whatever work is available until the ideal situation comes along is shameful.
  • Big business expecting the feds to bail them out if they have poor corporate policies - that is shameful.
  • Filling the air with REAL hate speech - like calling everyday working folk, stay at home moms, and retired people who assemble peacefully to voice their  objections to a broken government and its policies, that's shameful - these people are NOT racist, NOT violent - they are simply NO LONGER SILENT. ( and they leave all windows intact and the grounds clean when they assemble - as is their right)
  • Having an "historic election" - and having only 63% of registered voters turn out - that's shameful.

You get my drift.  We need to develop backbones and a moral compass.  We need to read and keep ourselves informed of current events - get our heads out of the sand.  We need to research candidates records and mark ballots based on that knowledge.  We need to not be afraid of a hard day's work and be willing to do whatever work is available to take care of our obligations.

We as a country need to start teaching our children and young people how to become civil, polite human beings.  That is part of character.  They will be in charge one day.  If we think we are struggling for peace now, wait till this generation of children and young people moves into leadership.  Many of them are grand human beings.  Many of them are good kids who have not been taught the value of hard work, honesty, keeping commitments, a kind word or the importance of researching the truth for themselves rather than accepting internet blurbs and TV sound bites as truth.

We can be victorious if we remain true to the ideas that made this divine experiment called America the most unique and inviting form of government and society the world had ever seen.  If instead we allow power hungry government zealots to turn us into controlled, weak parasites of their benifisence, our country will die, and we will have allowed it.

They will only stop and consider their plans for controlling more and more of our lives if all of us - whatever our color, political persuasion, gender or profession - if we all rise up and tell them to STOP - they will respond.

When the government gives you money with one hand, it attaches a chain of obligation and control to the other.  We fought to end slavery of one kind.  Are we willing to so easily slip into the slavery of  government control of every area of our lives?  Control of YOUR banking and investment transactions is next.   Get off the couch, call your congressional reps and senators, and tell them enough is enough.  Stop passing legislation that will affect every American without reading it and then acting pompously when people dare question you - That is shameful!

Say YES to Marco!

Someone to take note of - There is a young man in FL that I am supporting for US Senate not because of his party, but because of his belief in the country that I love and his determination to go to DC with honor and integrity. His desire is to try to help restore her from the grief that has been brought in recent years by career politicians from all parties who are completely out of touch with the citizens and history of this country. His name is Marco Rubio.

Anyway - I am trying to spread the word. He is one reason I am becoming active in politics for the first time in my life! He is about what is POSSIBLE in this country, not what is wrong with this still very young nation, which has already recognized and conquered past wrongs and continues to try to grow and achieve greatness for ALL it's people and support those in the world who desire freedom.

Here is the link to one of Marco's  speeches - the last part I think is the best. He is about history, heritage, and policy.

Marco Rubio is running for US Senate from FL against the sitting governor of FL, Charlie Crist. Charlie flip-flops to suit the mood of the electorate...that is not principle...that is politics.  Here are Marco's campaign links - please support Marco, wherever you live, if you agree with even 80% of what he stands for. 80% of him is better than 100% of most of those in DC now. Feel free to forward this via Twitter, Facebook or email to others you think might support him.  The unions and moderate dems are now pushing for Charlie.  Please show this nation that integrity MEANS something.

What the President really Feels about Securing the Border

This was originally shared by my friend Tom Cougar on Facebook, via a post on Red State - I want to be sure it stays visible!  Please repost or retweet it to your friends!

At approximately minute 4:42 Senator Jon Kyl talks of a private meeting with President Obama in which Obama said "If we secure the border, there will be no reason for the GOP to support comprehensive immigration reform."

View it for yourself.

For those who have lost fathers, grandfathers and father figures, whether suddenly or through long illness, my thoughts and prayers are with you today. Remember that there is a Heavenly Father who will hold you in the palm of His hand and comfort you there - if you will just be still and let Him.

All of those figures in my life are watching me from above and I hope I am honoring their efforts to show me how to live, work, love and laugh.  They also taught me what a great  country I am blessed to be born into citizenship in.

Dad, David, Pop-Pop.....and so many more....we miss  you.  This is not to dishonor my stepdad.  These relationships just had places of their own that will never be filled.  And yes, David was father-figure, as well as husband and best friend, who helped me to grow as a human being beyond anything I would have ever dreamed for myself.

Juneteenth - A day to celebrate Freedom

Just a few reflections after attending the Juneteeth Celebration hosted by the African American Republican Club of Hillsborough County.  For those that may find this strange, there are over 70 black Republicans running for local, state and federal offices in 2010.

The theme of the event was "The Emancipation of the Mind".  For those that do not know - although the Emacipation Procomation was give by Republican President Abraham Lincoln on Jan 1, 1963 - because we did not have 24/7 cable news,  or internet, it took a while for the news to reach the rest of the country.  Two and a half years later, on June 19, 1865, Union soldiers sailed into Galveston, Texas, announced the end of the Civil War, and read aloud a general order freeing the quarter-million slaves residing in the state.  Every year Juneteenth - June 19th is celebrated as the day of the true ending of Slavery.

Today's theme was about "freeing your mind".  We need to free our minds to the fact that blacks have fought for the American ideals of freedom and liberty since the Revolutionary war where Crispus Attucks was one of the martyrs of the Boston Massacre.  They fought for an America that they considered a Divine Experiment in Liberty.  An America where white Union General William Sherman announced
Special Field Orders, No. 15 to grant "40 acres and a mule" to the freed blacks who were following his camp as he travelled through the south. (By June 1865, around 10,000 freed slaves were settled on 400,000 acres (160,000 ha) in Georgia and South Carolina. Soon after, Democratic President Andrew Johnson reversed the order and returned the land to its white former owners). An America where white Republican congressmen who fought for the Voting Rights Act.

Blacks have fought in every war for an America where the Republican Party was FOUNDED as the Anti-slavery party.  An America where thousands of those "evil rich business owners" (and employers) are black.  An America where ANYONE can achieve anything that they set their mind to.  An America where many evils that are attributed to the Republican party are in fact OWNED by the Democratic Party - chief among them being the Ku Klux Klan and Jim Crow laws.

Guest Speaker AlfonZo Rachel, a black musician from Southern California pointed out that he did not believe the lies told to him by folks who started to call him an Uncle Tom and accuse him of acting white because he was intelligent, well-spoken and wanted to achieve.  He realized that those who bought into that lie were in fact "acting white" themselves by trying to keep others down, as in the plantation owners who did not want to allow slaves the power that comes from learning to read.  And yet his black "friends" would try to keep him down the same way.  Many in the audience seemed to identify with this experience.

We have come to a point where there are two types of Americans.  Those who have TRULY freed their minds to the opportunities this land provides and are willing to work to see those opportunities become realities, and those who just want to benefit off the labors of others.  This has nothing to do with race. It has nothing to do with those who hit hard times through sudden calamity.  It has everything to do with effort, integrity, ingenuity and idealism - ideas that are stomped on by the Democratic party (many of whom are rich white lawyers and investors)  who instead celebrate dependence, victim mentality, a class=based society and power in the hands of the State, not the people.

In honor of all who actually DID suffer under slavery - and in honor of all who fought to end this evil - we celebrate Juneteenth - and hope and pray for freedom for all people from the evils of continued actual physical slavery in many parts of the world, and slavery of the mind and soul here at home.   In fact - I really think the Grand Old Party should rename itself - the Great Overcoming Party!  It has fought to overcome tyranny wherever it arises since it's inception.

********************************************
I will add links and titles to this post a bit later but just wanted to get it out while my mind was fresh.

Excellent job for this first ever event!   The food, company and program were excellent.  Great job KC Bowick, Willie Lawson and Stanley Gloster on organizing.  Thanks to Hillsborough County Republican Party Chairman Deborah Cox-Roush for throwing your support behind this endeavor.  I made some great new friends in Chelsea P. Henry, and Sam and C.C. Newby who came down from Jacksonville and also Flora Reece who is one dynamic soul.  Eddie Adams, running for the 11th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives gave an excellent talk. Mike Pendegrast who is also in the Congressional primary was also there but understood when the floor to Eddie as the black Republican candidate.

"The Three Terrors"

The Coming Dark Ages

I sit here trying to identify the general sense of unease that pervades the lives of thinking Americans. Alice in Wonderland and the serfs of ancient Europe have NOTHING on what American citizens are experiencing today. The Dark Ages may not be just a thing of the past.

If we do not wake up, soon whole segments of what we know to be true will disappear from public discourse.  There is so much double speak and outright lying and ignorance of our history from elected officials and appointed judges - and young (and not so young) people accept that they are not to differ with the lies.  Just accept them and Big Brother will watch out for you.

The masses do not read. Control of our lives is being handed over to a powerful, corrupt elite. Faith is demeaned at every turn (unless you are Muslim or Buddhist). Civility is difficult to find and the skill of true debate is lost. Citizens make monumental decisions regarding elected officials and policy based on feelings and the mass-produced "message" from on high, rather than researching ANYTHING for themselves.

History is not being taught at all in many elementary schools and if it is being taught, it is being GREATLY revised - at every academic level. Music and Art are being dropped from school curriculums which means that whole intelligences are bring systematically ignored, and rich cultural contributions from throughout the history of the world are being discarded as unimportant.

Children are being taught reading, writing and math - but not being taught how to think. Children are not allowed to have heroes because ALL dirty laundry must be aired 24/7 on cable news. The children who learn writing then grow to communicate in nothing but 140 character texts full of poor grammar, vulgar speech and non-existent abbreviations.

One group of Americans is studying our history more intently than ever, reading, researching the meaning of America in depth and yes, viewing it discussed from ALL sides on that terrible Fox News network.

Another group is listening to sound bites, infomercials and old or young hippy professors and calling themselves informed, never exposing themselves to ANY other opinion.

A large group of Americans is completely uninvolved and votes for people based on how they look or what they can do for them, not what is in the best interest of their city, state or nation.

Peaceful protestors are called racists, while folks rioting in the streets, kids beating each other up for no good reason and anarchists wreaking havoc are ignored by major media.  Everyone is an expert in something and most of them know very little about anything.  In fact I believe it was Will Rogers who said - "I wish people would stop talking so much about what they do not know". People who dare to tell the truth are called radials because so little truth is spoken in our society anymore.

Millions of homes have every sort of toy and electronic device - but not a book to be found anywhere - except socially or TV driven children's books.  When visitors come in my home they are always struck by the nest of books by my reading chair...on many subjects...all of which I am reading at once.

We are at a tipping point for the success of this nation - I believe we will survive - but we may become a shadow of our former selves in the process.

Oprah defends her best bud Barack - about the oil spill

Of course...if he spends to much money on the gulf...he won't have enough to give to inner city neighborhoods.  Many people in the fishing shrimping industrty live on that day-to-day edge poverty.  Hollywood..wherefore art thou?  Benefit concerts?  Protests? Rallies?  Ooops, I'm sorry - you folks are too busy being sure illegalsbe allowed to cross our borders and swell your voting ranks.

And pray tell Oprah, how did he act as a leader in the first week??? first month??? First 45 days?  And why did he allow his administration to give into the environmentalists and force this deep sea drilling rather than the safer shallower drilling closer to shore (but still MILES out)?  And what is his connection to Brazil and oil and Soros.  Couldn't YOU give a few MILLION to the families who are fighting for survival RIGHT NOW?  Where is the condemnation and outrage?
