GOP - "Party of No" - Not such a bad thing?

Maybe if the GOP truly adopted the mantra or slogan of "The Party of No" from this day forward - they would become the party of choice for thinking, budget-minded and security-minded Americans.

Here is a platform I might start to believe in:

• NO more debt - PERIOD!

• NO raising of the debt ceiling - not another dollar.

• NO more shady back-room deals

• NO more unfunded mandates (like NCLB)

• NO more taxes (or hidden fees!!!)

• NOT ONE MORE Democrat-Lite candidate endorsed by the DC GOP committees - there are enough of them on the other side of the aisle!  WE must be different!  Otherwise we are like so many churches who have moved from the convictions of their faith an heritage in order to appease an increasingly secular and twisted society - hence - no one takes them seriously.  BE REPUBLICANS!  REPUBLICANS are CONSERVATIVES if they are being true to the name.

• NO more acting as if you do NOT have a standard of honor, thrift and decency to uphold in your public AND personal lives.

• NO more pretending that this country was not a DIVINE EXPERIMENT founded by remarkable men on Judeo/Christian principles with the guarantee of religious freedom and tolerance.

• NO MORE timid voices - it is time to be STRONG for the American people.  We need stouthearted men and women of conviction - not milquetoast mealy-mouthed politicians.   STAND UP!  Even if you are a minority - your voices should ring from the roof tops that YOU will stand for the American people and TRUE progress that we can be proud to pass  to the next generation.

• NO civilian trials and lawyers for enemy combatants - PERIOD!

• NOT another year without serious immigration reform!

• NOT another year without a major security focus on our southern border.

• NO earmarks of any kind, for anyone, for any purpose.

• NO major REFORM legislation passed until unemployment is below 6% for at least 3 years.

• NO more unnecessary regulations on small business and a line by line review and repeal of existing ones until enterpeneurs once again have the energy and freedom to build our economy and create jobs in our own neighborhoods - that people can WALK to - even if they don't have much.
• 
  
• NO federal pension for Senators or Representatives - PERIOD! You need to build 401Ks like everyone esle and suffer the rise and fall of the economy like everyone else.  Otherwise you are just a members of a federal UNION that will bankrupt us further.

Well that's my list of "NO's" for now.  What did I miss?  What do you think?
