First - WHERE are the current heros for our kids? ( I was teaching about MLK, Jr)
Second - There are events that occur in this world where the pain and agony is just too great to process. The situation in Haiti is one of them. Please pray for all of the defenseless children who have been orphaned. I heard when I was coming home from work that they will be transporting thousands of Haitian children to Florida so they can survive and that many will be coming to Tampa. We welcome them. I am considering fostering at least one.
Third - America is now 234 years old - we have more than enough laws by far. Since that is the primary job of the Congress - NOT SWEEPING REFORM OF EVEY MAJOR ECONOMIC SYSTEM IN THE NATION - let's send them home until November! We cannot afford anything they want to do, we don't need any of it and we could significantly reduce the deficit by closing all their offices, making them go home and meet their constituents and communicate via teleconference. In fact - they should only be called back to DC IF they get reelected after facing their constituents or if a REAL national crisis arises - Health Care and Environment do not count. Yes I know that will put a lot of their DC aides out of work and make the lobbyists REALLy eat up their expense accounts in travel, but just maybe we could feel safe again for a little while.
Fourth - I believe Sarah Palin held her own very well with Bill and Glenn. I DON'T believe her tenure at Fox means she is out of politics - not for a microsecond! I do believe that the opportunity to be on camera regularly, to spend time around some of the great political minds that work their like Rove and Krauthammer and Hume, and the ability to package HERSELF will only aid her future endeavors.
Fifth - I am so impressed with candidates for U.S. Senate Chuck Devore (CA vs Boxer) and Marco Rubio (FL vs Gov. Crist) who have sent me multiple emails asking not for support for themselves, but asking me to support Scott Brown in Massachusetts in his battle against Democratic princess Coakley. Are they paving the way for their own support? Of course - but they are also sending their own donations and supporters to Scott Brown for the time being to aide the real cause of restoring balance to the Senate. That is what STATESMEN do.
Finally - I am impressed by the dignity of the Haitian people - which seems to grow from the strength of the family unit - something perhaps we could emulate here.
Anxiously awaiting Tuesday and getting ready to make calls to "Get out the vote for Scott!"
Yes We Can Make this country great again!
