The media bias in this election has now been fully reported. All of the mainstream TV media, most major newspapers and news magazines - They all crowned Senator Obama King long before election night. Even Fox News, for the last two weeks, found it hard to say that Senator McCain had a fighting chance.
How does that allow for a fair election in the USA? I feel like we might as well have been a communist country where all you see is pictures of one candidate and all news is censored.
If I were a twenty-something with no knowledge of history, no moral grounding from my parents, schooled in our liberal universities and fed soundbites from an attractive, articulate young man, I would have voted to get a little change also.
Could the McCain campaign have done a better job? Absolutely! Could teh GOP have done a better job? For sure. But so could the FCC.
There needs to be legislation that each candidate gets a fair percentage of news coverage. This includes candidates other than Replublican or Democrat. This would have helped Ron Paul tremendously. News magazines must give each candidate the same amount of covers. The last week of the election all you saw was King Obama's face.
Network news must be held accountable for reporting backgrounds and positions of candidates, not offering their commentary or suggestions to the voter. The latter is called propoganda, the former is called news.
